On October 22, 2012, it was estimated that 3,500 people gathered on the lawn of the legislature in Victoria BC to say, “No to pipelines and supertankers coming down the BC coast.” There was a 235 meter black banner, representing the length of a super tanker, which was staked into the lawn as an act of nonviolent civil disobedience.
